PIP POSITIVE INTERVENTION PROGRAMME© is a restraint and positive handling accredited course developed for mainstream primary schools, BY mainstream primary schools, in response to an ever growing complex pupil population and the need for more quality training that goes beyond just teaching staff how to hold and guide pupils safely.
Over 400 schools contributed to this package being created. They told us THIS is what they wanted from positive handling training and we listened:
“We need good quality de-escalation strategies based on specific needs of individual children in mainstream primary schools such as ADHD, ASD, attachment conditions, NOT generic one size fits all.”
“A course that builds in practice of guides and holds because staff may only use them once or twice a year. We want to feel confident holding pupils and for pupils to be safe when we need to use them.”
“We’d like to be able to keep the training in house so we can deliver it more often and also keep costs down. We also know our children better, so we can make it bespoke for our school.”
“We’d like to access expert advice when we need it, especially if we have a pupil that needs to be held often. Like a quality control to check we’re doing it correctly”
